Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Medical Statistics

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Medical Statistics to join our team at the University of Oxford, Department of Engineering Science. The successful candidate will have a strong background in medical statistics and a keen interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The Computational Health Informatics (CHI) Laboratory, led by Prof David Clifton, is one of the leading groups for AI in Healthcare. As a Postdoctoral Research Assistant, you will work closely with senior medical statisticians to develop medical statistical methods for improving our understanding of patient physiological conditions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing tools for analysing large electronic health record (EHR) and sensor datasets
- Collaborating with senior colleagues in the Medical Sciences Division and the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- Working in a highly interdisciplinary team to advance AI in Healthcare
We are looking for a candidate with a PhD (or near completion) in mathematics, medical statistics, computational statistics, or a related field. Experience in working in a highly interdisciplinary team and a good publication record in the scientific literature are essential.
