Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Services Mechanical Designer Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing discipline leadership, adhering to the design process, and undertaking mechanical engineering design activities related to projects.
Responsibilities:
- Represent the company in a professional and diligent manner.
- To provide discipline leadership.
- To adhere to the design process and undertake mechanical engineering design activities relating to the project.
- To fulfill the Practice's overall objective in producing first-class architecture and engineering on time and on budget.
- Review and management of project from inception to post-construction duties.
- Good knowledge of relevant legislations, standards, regulations, guides, and good practice.
- To develop thorough knowledge of and compliance with company procedures and standards.
- To contribute and assist, as required by the Project Leader or Senior Partner, or nominated Engineer.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate ability to undertake responsibilities as outlined above.
- Legally able to work in the country where the position is based.
- Qualified as a Chartered Engineer.
- Solid technical understanding of own core engineering discipline and the role of the mechanical engineer within the design team.
- Broad understanding of other engineering disciplines engaged in the design of the built environment.
- Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and industry standard design reference material.
- Ability to use initiative in response to project demands.
- Able to negotiate and communicate well in graphical, written or verbal forms, including ability to listen and understand others.
- Ability to understand and formulate design decisions.
- Flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and a proven commitment to independent, lifelong learning.
- Self-organized and motivated.
- Developed problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and able to work independently and as part of an effective team.
- Able to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
- Resilient to cope with conflicting demands, able to prioritize duties and work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to use Autodesk Revit and Microsoft 'Office' suite.
Estimated Salary: £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
