About the Role:
GirlingJones is recruiting a highly skilled Building Services Mechanical Design Specialist to join their engineering team in Plymouth. As a respected and innovative design consultancy, we specialize in delivering top-notch M&E, Public Health & Sustainable Design services nationally. We are committed to helping our clients achieve their goals through expert engineering solutions.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their skills and knowledge in Building Services design while working on various projects. Our ideal candidate will possess a relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities and Requirements:
  • Work collaboratively with senior engineers and directors to deliver design projects.
  • Produce design deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Conduct design calculations and create detailed drawings meeting compliance and quality standards.
  • Engage in client meetings and presentations, enhancing client-facing experience.

Key Requirements:
  • A relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
  • Interest or experience in Building Services design, with a strong desire to grow in this area.
  • Familiarity with design software such as IES, Revit, or Hevacomp is beneficial but not essential – training will be provided.
