Job Summary:
NHS England is seeking an exceptional individual to fill the role of Programme and Training Director for Dental Core Training in Community Dental Services (CDS). This position is accountable to the Postgraduate Dental Dean via the Associate Dental Dean and plays a crucial part in the direction of CDS DCT training programmes across Yorkshire and the Humber.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting trainees' physical, emotional, and mental well-being
- Essential involvement with recruitment, quality control, and assessment of trainees
- Delivering a training programme that aligns with the DCT curriculum and the Dental Gold Guide 2023
- Leading a team of Educational Supervisors and managing their training and support
- Attending DCT Board and Strategy Planning meetings
- Innovating pathways towards the Dental Education Reform Programme
- Engaging in annual appraisal of their role with the Associate Dental Dean
Requirements:
- Experience as an NHS Consultant, SAS, SDO grade, or University employee (lecturer or above)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a multi-professional team
- Thorough understanding of postgraduate dental training programmes at this level
Working Arrangements:
Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person. Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
