We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Supply Star Recruitment Limited. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the tailored assistance they require to succeed in their learning journey.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 or small group support for students with SEND, including those with Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning disabilities.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other tailored learning strategies.
- Support the emotional, social, and physical development of students.
- Help to create a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Monitor and report student progress to teachers and SENDCO.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt resources and materials to meet the needs of individual students.
- Encourage positive behaviour and support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
- Support students in developing life skills, confidence, and independence.
- A passion for working with children with special educational needs.
- Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Understanding of various learning difficulties and disabilities, and how to support students effectively.
- A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent, is preferred but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be patient, empathetic, and adaptable in a dynamic classroom environment.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
