Chief Risk Strategist

We are seeking an experienced IT risk manager to join our IM&T Governance and Assurance team at BAE Systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a new risk management strategy for IM&T, assessing current risk management practices, and overseeing enhancements.

• Tailor, implement, and maintain the risk management strategy, policies, procedures, and plan for the programme in line with business processes.
• Monitor and audit the quality, application, and effectiveness of the risk management process, including risk toolset, and provide assurance to the programme and business.
• Ensure effective risk management guidance and training packages are in place to support the risk team and programme.
• Advise and guide programme/project management teams on key risk issues facing the programme/project.
• Review and challenge risk data.

• Experienced professional with extensive knowledge of risk management (tools, techniques, practices) and good knowledge within an IT environment.
• Strong analytical skill set with proven ability to integrate, interpret, and articulate risk information across multiple project areas.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to guide and influence at a senior level internally and externally.
• ISO9001 or similar would be advantageous.
