Job Summary:
As a Continental Shift Maintenance Operator Grade 2, you will be responsible for undertaking prescribed maintenance tasks as directed by the Engineering Supervisor/Infrastructure Services Manager.

You will work with a small team of maintenance staff on a rotating day and night shift rota, carrying out planned maintenance tasks and varied unscheduled work in a busy environment.

This role is predominantly working on the external areas of the Estate, with a focus on ensuring the highest possible standard of plant and equipment efficiency.

The post holder will be expected to adopt a flexible approach to other skills or trades to ensure the most cost-effective completion of all tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify and diagnose faults, and carry out repairs, adjustments, and other maintenance works as appropriate.
2. Carry out routine servicing, repair, or adjustment of plant or machinery in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule, as tasked by the Engineering Supervisor.
3. Adopt a flexible approach to other skills or trades to ensure the most cost-effective completion of all tasks.
4. Monitor plant as tasked and record data using the supplied documentation.
5. Achieve the highest possible standard of plant and equipment efficiency by ensuring that each task is carried out in accordance with the set requirements and instructions.
6. Assist in ensuring that all working areas are kept clean and tidy and all refuse and waste materials are removed as appropriate.
7. Comply with the Company's 'Health & Safety' policy and procedures, and immediately report any hazards or infringements to the Infrastructure Services Manager or Engineering Supervisor.
8. Action and complete time/task sheets on a daily basis in accordance with agreed procedures.
9. Undertake other reasonable duties as requested by the Infrastructure Services Manager or Engineering Supervisor.

Requirements:
1. Ability to work as a team member and communicate effectively at all levels.
2. Customer-focused and diplomatic approach.
3. Ability to make decisions to the benefit of the business.
4. Previous experience working in a modern building services maintenance environment, with basic understanding of HVAC and building services.
5. Full-time apprenticeship in an electrical or Building Services HVAC discipline, complete with City & Guilds 236 part 1 & 2 certification/NVQ Level 3, or equivalent.
