About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Analytical Chemist to join our team at LGC Group. As an Analytical Chemist, you will play a key role in supporting the activities of the MHRA Laboratories by undertaking physico-chemical testing of chemical and herbal reference materials, method validation, and method development.

Key Responsibilities
Our ideal candidate will have a sound background in Chemistry at degree level, with theoretical knowledge of HPLC, GC, IR, UV spectrometry, and titration. Your computing skills should include a familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.

What You Will Do
Key responsibilities include:

  1. Analysis of samples using HPLC, GC, Mid IR, UV spectroscopy, wet chemistry, and GC/LC-MS
  2. Drafting analytical reports/methods and safety assessments
  3. Running and interpreting analytical data for validation and quality control
  4. Adhering to and contributing to an effective quality system, ensuring work aligns with ISO/IEC 17025 standards
  5. Routine maintenance, daily performance checks, and periodic calibration of equipment
  6. Leading projects and coordinating staff to ensure key performance indicators are met
  7. Supporting general lab activities and delivery as needed
