About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Analytical Chemist to join our team at LGC Group. As an Analytical Chemist, you will play a key role in supporting the activities of the MHRA Laboratories by undertaking physico-chemical testing of chemical and herbal reference materials, method validation, and method development.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct analysis of samples using HPLC, GC, Mid IR, UV spectroscopy, wet chemistry, and GC/LC-MS
  2. Draft analytical reports and methods, as well as safety assessments
  3. Run and interpret analytical data for validation and quality control
  4. Ensure adherence to an effective quality system, aligning work with ISO/IEC 17025 standards
  5. Maintain equipment, perform daily performance checks, and calibrate periodically
  6. Lead projects and coordinate staff to meet key performance indicators
  7. Support general lab activities as needed

Requirements

You will have a strong background in Chemistry at degree level, with theoretical knowledge of HPLC, GC, IR, UV spectrometry, and titration. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is also required.
