Project Delivery Lead

Austin Fraser is seeking a seasoned Senior Contracts Manager to lead our project delivery team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in contract administration, team leadership, and client relationship management. You will work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to manage all contractual, financial, and operational aspects of our projects.
- Project Execution: Oversee the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction to final handover, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Contractual Compliance: Ensure the effective administration of contracts, including reviewing terms and conditions, managing variations, and negotiating final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
- Team Direction: Lead and manage a team of contracts managers, project managers, and site staff, providing direction, guidance, and support to ensure projects are progressing as planned.
- Client Communication: Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear and open communication at all stages of the project.
- Risk Identification: Proactively identify potential risks on projects, implement mitigation strategies, and resolve issues promptly to prevent delays or cost overruns.
- Budgetary Management: Monitor project budgets and ensure that costs are effectively managed. Prepare financial forecasts, cost reports, and ensure all billing and payments are processed in a timely manner.
- Supply Chain Management: Oversee the procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with contracts, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all projects are in full compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety on site and implementing risk assessments and method statements.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all projects adhere to required quality standards and specifications, conducting regular site inspections and audits to ensure quality control.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular progress reports for senior management and clients, outlining key milestones, issues, and solutions, maintaining accurate project records and documentation.
- Programme Development: Develop and maintain project programmes, ensuring timely delivery of key milestones and coordinating with various teams to address any delays or issues.
- Process Improvement: Actively seek opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance the delivery of projects through innovation and effective project management techniques.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Contracts Manager, preferably within the build, roofing, and utilities sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, including JCT and NEC, and experience in managing large, complex projects.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams and coordinating multiple projects.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget management, cost control, and financial reporting.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to manage risks and issues effectively.
- Good understanding of health & safety regulations and quality standards within the construction industry.
- A competitive salary of approximately £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.
