About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solicitor or Legal Executive to join our well-established and friendly housing team at Carlton Recruitment Solutions Ltd.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in housing law, including possession proceedings, claims for poor housing conditions, and homeless applications. They will also have excellent knowledge of the legal aid scheme and the ability to provide supervision to a growing team of junior lawyers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stay up-to-date with general legal developments, particularly relating to housing law.
  • Deal with routine correspondence, negotiations, and advocacy, where appropriate.
  • Analyse legal matters and advise clients on the best course of action.
  • Undertake administrative tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and efficient casework and billing.
  • Provide supervision where necessary and report to supervisors when required.

Requirements:

  • Experience of a full range of housing law, including possession, disrepair, and tenancy dispute proceedings.
  • Good working knowledge of the legal aid scheme and CCMS.
  • Excellent oral and telephone skills.
  • Commercial awareness.
