The Opportunity:

This role involves being the technical support partner to MOD for an extensive recapitalisation programme of defence real estate and infrastructure on the south coast of England. By developing and maturing plans into a coherent programme, you will work with the client to redefine the pathway addressing challenges and present options to resolve them. The project aims to contribute to net zero carbon aspirations.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior internal and external stakeholders to engage and integrate supply chains effectively.
  • Capture innovation and industry best practices, promoting the highest health, safety, and wellbeing standards.
  • Influence and negotiate with key senior stakeholders, providing expert technical advice and guidance.
  • Drive supply chain performance management, including market intelligence and supply chain resilience.
  • Execute commercial management of contractual agreements and provide client advisory services on procurement and supply chain processes.
  • Deliver continuous improvements through best practices and lessons learned, driving transformational change.
  • Manage large teams, driving behaviours to achieve success and KPIs.
  • Provide performance management, technical development, and coaching.
  • Contribute to the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during delivery.

Requirements:

  • Experience in delivering strategic procurement and supply chain solutions with strong analytical skills.
  • MCIPS or working towards, good knowledge of contract law, and ability to support contract aspects.
  • Good understanding of prevailing market conditions and alignment strategies against industry trends.
  • Strong risk management skills, problem-solving approach, time management, and flexibility.
  • Excellent relationship building skills, teamwork, and emotional intelligence.
  • Proven experience in package procurements, supply chain management, and managing senior professionals.
  • Able to win and manage commissions effectively.
  • Knowledge of common forms of contracts within the construction industry and major projects environment.

About You:

  • Knowledge of market shaping and supply chain assurance.
  • Team management experience.
  • Familiarity with public procurement regulations 2015, OJEU, and EU directives.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Fluent in one specific form of contract (NEC, FIDIC, or JCT).
