Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer to join our Structures Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, including financial management and team leadership. You will report directly to the Director of Structural Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Associate Director/Director in managing the structural engineering team
  • Independently manage projects and project teams
  • Take financial responsibility for your own projects
  • Prepare fee quotations and invoices
  • Manage staff and other consultants
  • Develop the team of engineers and technicians
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders and clients
  • Conduct site visits and undertake structural surveys, investigations, and repair schemes for structures

Requirements

  • Hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent
  • Be chartered with ICE, IStructE, or equivalent, or progressing towards chartership
  • Have experience in designing foundations, masonry, concrete, steel, and timber structures to eurocodes
  • Have experience in the residential market, including traditional construction and framed structures
  • Have market commercial awareness and knowledge of financial management of projects
  • Have experience in structural investigations of low-rise residential properties, medium to high-rise residential and commercial markets
  • Have experience in structural investigation and reporting, preferably in relation to the Building Safety Act
  • Be familiar with Tekla software and ideally with AutoCAD/Revit
  • Have strong leadership skills and the ability to make decisions
  • Have previous management experience and be motivated with initiative and comfortable with autonomy
