Engineering Technician Demonstrator

Job Overview:
USP College is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Engineering Technician Demonstrator to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in supporting students during practical lessons and project work, providing technical assistance and guidance to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- To work closely with teaching staff in all engineering areas, providing practical support and assistance to students during lessons and project work.
- To prepare and maintain equipment and apparatus for practical lessons, ensuring that all equipment is in perfect working order and stored safely.
- To provide technical guidance and support to students, ensuring that they adhere to appropriate manufacturer usage and Health and Safety requirements.
- To maintain a clean and safe working environment, carrying out routine maintenance and repair as necessary to meet Health and Safety and college requirements.
- To evaluate new workshop lessons and provide feedback to improve the student experience and curriculum delivery.
- To maintain accurate records and databases, requesting new stock and ensuring that products are stored and labelled correctly and safely.
- To ensure that Health and Safety checks and measures are adhered to at all times, checking the safety of practical areas and equipment.
- To work flexibly as part of the faculty team, covering all aspects of team provision and assisting with curriculum delivery.
- To have an understanding of safeguarding and take ownership of embedding safeguarding practices into their role.
- To be able to prioritize and juggle various tasks, adhering to deadlines as required.
- To consistently deal with queries in a professional and calm manner.
- To have the ability to understand and apply appropriate procedures relating to equipment and Health & Safety.
- To commit to other duties compatible with the post held, which may reasonably be required from time to time.
Job Requirements:
- A qualification in a Science subject to at least A Level or equivalent.
