About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Practitioner to join our team at HMP Hull. As a key member of our education team, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of our learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide education induction to new arrivals and promote learning opportunities within the education department.
  • Research men's educational backgrounds, administer basic skills assessments, and screen for any LDD needs.
  • Write learning support plans and assist teachers with strategies to support inclusion across the curriculum.
Requirements
  • Understanding of how people learn and methods to enhance a learning experience.
  • Track record of working effectively with people presenting challenging behaviour.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy, or willingness to work towards them within an agreed timescale.
  • Level 2 or 3 qualification for Learning Support Practitioners, or willingness to work towards it within an agreed timescale.
