Male Community Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate BSL Community Support Worker to join our team at SENSE, THE NATIONAL DEAFBLIND AND RUBELLA ASSOCIATION. As a Communicator Guide, you will play a vital role in supporting two individuals with Usher syndrome and Deafblindness in exploring their community for social and leisure activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist individuals in engaging in their preferred activities, such as volunteering at a café or participating in social and leisure activities.
- Accompany individuals to appointments and help with online or in-store shopping.
- Support individuals in making their own choices on how they would like to spend their day.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, particularly those with Usher syndrome and Deafblindness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in British Sign Language (BSL).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This is a permanent role with a commitment of 10 hours per week, supporting two individuals in the following locations: Coseley (5 hours) and Oldbury (5 hours).
