About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Barnet. As a key member of the school community, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEN, both individually and in small groups
- Adapt and prepare learning materials to meet the specific needs of each student
- Support students in any reasonable way possible
- Create and maintain an engaging and supportive classroom environment
- Work closely with the teaching team to ensure all children receive the support they need to succeed
- Manage behaviour effectively and confidently, especially for children with challenging behaviour or learning difficulties
Requirements:
- A 2:1 degree or higher in Psychology or a related field from a Top 30 UK University
- Previous experience in a primary school with SEN students is crucial
- Strong communication skills and good behaviour management strategies
- Confidence in supporting children with challenging behaviour and additional learning needs
- Compassion, patience, and resilience are highly desirable
