About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Barnet. As a key member of the school community, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEN, both individually and in small groups
  • Adapt and prepare learning materials to meet the specific needs of each student
  • Support students in any reasonable way possible
  • Create and maintain an engaging and supportive classroom environment
  • Work closely with the teaching team to ensure all children receive the support they need to succeed
  • Manage behaviour effectively and confidently, especially for children with challenging behaviour or learning difficulties

Requirements:

  • A 2:1 degree or higher in Psychology or a related field from a Top 30 UK University
  • Previous experience in a primary school with SEN students is crucial
  • Strong communication skills and good behaviour management strategies
  • Confidence in supporting children with challenging behaviour and additional learning needs
  • Compassion, patience, and resilience are highly desirable
