Senior Planner to Associate Director

We are partnering with a leading consultancy to help grow their team in the South West. The business has a strong presence in the region, with two offices and a close-knit Planning team. They have a proven track record with public and private sector clients across various disciplines and are now looking to expand their team with a senior hire.

About the Role

You will be a specialist in the residential sector, with experience in strategic site promotions and working on a variety of projects across commercial, industrial, and care sectors. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and lean team working on challenging projects, collaborating with enthusiastic junior colleagues and industry-leading Partners who are hands-on and involved in every project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage planning applications through the development process.
  • Write representations to Local Plans and manage strategic land promotions through the development process.
  • Meet with clients and liaise with key stakeholders.
  • Appraise potential sites for clients and conduct pre-application meetings and work.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in planning policy.
  • Contribute to business development at the senior level and mentor junior team members.
Requirements
  • MRTPI or equivalent qualification.
  • At least four years of industry experience, in consultancy, client-side, or in a local authority.
  • Strong commercial understanding across the wider sector, including planning.
  • Excellent communication skills with good technical and writing abilities.
