Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Area Business Class Lead to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading by example, managing staff, recruiting and developing talent, and providing technical and professional guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by example, representing HDR and BES as a leader with a client/customer service mentality.
  • Manage staff, including addressing personnel issues, delegating responsibilities, hiring and firing staff, and strategic planning of the business class group at the area level.
  • Recruit and develop talent, mentor staff, and conduct annual review and outlook conversations for staff.
  • Provide technical and professional guidance, help staff with professional development and career plans/growth, and work delegation and staffing.
  • Project delivery accountability and enforcement, including taking an active role in monitoring project budgets and schedules within the Electrical section.
  • Forecasting, including assisting the Managing Principal in determining short-term, mid-term, and long-term forecasting for the respective business class.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a professional, architecture, engineering, or closely related field.
  • 10 years of experience.
  • Committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values.
  • Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience experienced in development and management of diverse teams.
  • Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers on business class efforts.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
