About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a children's home, ensuring the highest standards of care and support for young individuals residing in the home. They will also be expected to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and adherence to regulatory standards, including The Children's Homes Regulations and Children Act.

This role requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide and facilitate the growth and development of staff members. Collaboration with external agencies is also essential, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and commissioners' specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the children's home, promoting exceptional care and support for young residents.
  • Ensure comprehensive knowledge and adherence to regulatory standards, including The Children's Homes Regulations and Children Act.
  • Oversee the home's staff team, providing guidance and facilitating their growth and development.
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and commissioners' specifications.
  • Contribute actively to strategic planning and development within the organization, offering support to other service areas when necessary.
Requirements
  • Essential qualification: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
  • Desirable qualification: Level 5 Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in children's residential care.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Experience of managing budgets.
  • Direct involvement in Ofsted inspections.
