At AEGIS London, we're seeking a highly skilled Lead Financial Reporting Specialist to join our team. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to take on a leading role in our monthly US GAAP and annual UK GAAP reporting process for multiple entities.

About the Role

This is an exceptional chance to work with our experienced finance team, contributing to process enhancements and developing a robust controls environment across all financial ledgers and reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of insurance accounting and be able to communicate effectively with external advisors.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Manage and prepare annual statutory financial statements under UK GAAP for multiple entities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  2. Support the preparation of the monthly US GAAP management accounts, providing accurate and timely information to stakeholders.
  3. Develop and implement a new UK GAAP financial statements preparation process, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
  4. Prepare conversion and comparatives of annual statutory financial statements under UK GAAP for multiple entities from GBP to USD reporting currency.
  5. Ensure effective day-to-day financial accounting, reporting, and controls are maintained, meeting internal and external deadlines.
  6. Review and maintain controls, ensuring they are effective and reviewed in a timely manner.
  7. Establish and maintain excellent communication with external advisors, such as tax advisors and investment providers.
  8. Contribute to the development of improved accounting and reporting processes, driving business growth and success.
  9. Assist in other finance team projects and development, as required.
  10. Prepare information for external auditors, ensuring a smooth audit process and maintaining a positive relationship.
  11. Perform a first-level review of the work prepared by team members, promoting quality and consistency.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  1. Post-qualified with a recognised accounting body (ACCA/ACA/CIMA).
  2. Strong knowledge of insurance accounting, with Lloyd's of London experience desirable.
  3. Excellent IT skills, especially Excel, with knowledge of Workday a plus.
  4. Clear and well-structured written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Able to prioritise work to meet deadlines and manage competing demands.
  6. Strong organisational skills and ability to build and maintain co-operative relationships.
