Primary Higher Level Teaching Assistant Job Description

Protocol Education is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Primary Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team in Doncaster. As a key member of the school's staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the education and development of children with English as an additional language.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a full class with provided planning
  • Lead intervention sessions to support children with English as an additional language
  • Work collaboratively with the school's dedicated and enthusiastic team to create inspiring learning environments
  • Develop and implement engaging resources to support pupil learning
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and external agencies to ensure seamless support for children

Requirements:

  • Good general level of education, including Maths and English GCSE grade C/5 or above, or further relevant experience in the absence of formal qualifications
  • NVQ level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent
  • Experience of working within the curriculum
  • Confidence in teaching both groups and the whole class
  • High expectations of all pupils' achievements and behaviour, and a commitment to raising standards
  • Drive and motivation to create inspiring learning environments and engaging resources
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to working as part of a team
  • Organised and able to show initiative, reflecting on their own practice
  • Motivated, with a good sense of humour and an eagerness to learn and develop professionally
