Primary Higher Level Teaching Assistant Job Description

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a school in Doncaster. The successful candidate will be required to teach a full class, with planning provided, and may also lead intervention sessions for children with English as an additional language.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a full class with provided planning
  • Lead intervention sessions for children with EAL
  • Work with a dedicated and enthusiastic team of staff and children
  • Use initiative and be adaptable to meet the requirements of the school and children

Requirements:

  • Good general level of education, including Maths and English GCSE grade C/5 or above, or further relevant experience
  • NVQ level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent
  • Experience of working within the curriculum
  • Confidence in teaching both groups and the whole class
  • High expectations of all pupils' achievements and behaviour
  • Commitment to raising standards
  • Drive and motivation to create inspiring learning environments and engaging resources
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to working as part of a team
  • Organised and able to show initiative, reflecting on their own practice
