Job Description

**Job Title:** Night Shift Team Leader

**Job Summary:** Pro-Resourcing Ltd is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established engineering business, to fill the position of Night Shift Team Leader. This is a full-time, permanent role that requires a strong leader to supervise team members during the night shift.

Key Responsibilities:
  • **Supervise Team Members:** Oversee the daily activities of team members during the night shift, ensuring that production and demand priorities are met.
  • **Ensure Tooling and Fixtures:** Ensure that all necessary tooling and fixtures are available for team members when required.
  • **Identify Engineering Requirements:** Identify any engineering requirements or issues that arise and communicate them to the relevant departments, including Production Planner, H&S, Commercial, Maintenance & Engineering.
  • **Manage Staff Attendance:** Manage staff attendance and development, including completing yearly PDRs for each team member.
  • **Monitor Work Attendance:** Monitor and manage work attendance, identifying any training requirements or capability issues.
  • **Conduct Meetings:** Conduct start-of-shift and end-of-shift meetings to update the 'SQCDP' charts.
  • **Operate CNC Machines:** Operate CNC milling machines and other workshop equipment as necessary.
  • **Set and Prove Out Jobs:** Set and prove out jobs, obtaining a first-of-job has been proved out.
  • **Run Production:** Run milling machines after setting, ensuring that quality is maintained throughout the entire production run.
  • **Operate CMM Machines:** Operate CNC and manual CMM machines, following instructions to run programs to check drawing compliance of manufactured parts.
  • **Attend Meetings:** Attend weekly production meetings.
  • **Ensure Health and Safety:** Ensure that health and safety guidelines and practices are maintained and developed, and that all operators are adequately trained and informed of all relevant H&S matters.
  • **Communicate Issues:** Communicate any issues through appropriate methods to the engineering, commercial, and technical departments.
  • **Recommend Courses of Action:** Recommend courses of action for moving capacity around, ensuring customer deliveries and KPIs are met.
  • **Identify Manufacturing Improvements:** Identify and develop manufacturing improvements and procedures.
  • **Understand Quality Requirements:** Understand the individual quality requirements imposed by customers and ensure that these are met with production.
Requirements:
  • **Engineering Knowledge:** Good understanding of engineering practices and methods, including knowledge of powder metallurgy processes and machining methods, particularly vertical CNC milling machines.
Working Hours:

Sunday to Thursday, 10pm - 6am
