Maintenance Engineer

As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of our site equipment and infrastructure at the Hawes site.
This will involve the maintenance of our state-of-the-art cheesemaking equipment, as well as planned preventative maintenance to ensure optimal efficiency of site facilities and equipment.
You will also be involved in project engineering for the installation and commissioning of new processing and production lines, as well as the movement and installation of existing lines at the Hawes manufacturing site.
With a focus on electrical maintenance, you will be responsible for the maintenance of motors, drives, electrical paneling, and PLC control units.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Maintenance of all plant machinery and equipment, including cheese making, processing, bulk milk storage, pasteurisation, processing, and packing equipment.
- Maintenance of site infrastructure, where appropriate.
- Planned Preventative Maintenance routines (PPM).
- Project engineering, installations, and commissioning of new and second-hand equipment.
- On-call duties as part of a rota system.
- Site engineering support.
You will be well-suited for this role if you have:
- An electrically biased multi-skilled background with an HNC or HND qualification.
- Hands-on reactive experience with a broad range of equipment and machinery within a production and/or manufacturing environment.
- Working experience with lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
- Strong communication skills and a strong team player.
- The ability to use your own initiative to solve problems and act decisively.
