Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Shift Engineer to join our close-knit engineering team at the Hawes site. This role will focus on ensuring the optimal efficiency of site facilities and equipment, excluding refrigeration, through the maintenance of state-of-the-art cheesemaking equipment, planned preventative maintenance, and other related tasks.

The Maintenance Shift Engineer will also be responsible for project engineering, including the build, installation, and commissioning of new processing and production lines, as well as mechanical and electrical maintenance of all processing lines.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
  1. Maintaining all plant machinery and equipment, using external support when necessary, including cheese making, processing, bulk milk storage, pasteurisation, and processing and packing equipment.
  2. Carrying out planned preventative maintenance routines (PPM) to ensure the continued operation of site infrastructure and equipment.
  3. Providing site engineering support, including on-call duties as part of a rota system.
Requirements for the Role:
  1. An electrically biased multi-skilled engineer with an HNC or HND background.
  2. Hands-on reactive experience with a broad range of equipment and machinery within a production and/or manufacturing environment.
  3. Working experience with lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
  4. A strong communicator who values teamwork and can use their own initiative to solve problems and act decisively.
