We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial & Programmes Controller to join our team at Smiths Detection. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for managing the sales forecasting and programme accounting processes for the NW Europe region.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the sales forecasting process, including the development of 5-year strategic plans, annual budgets, and monthly rolling forecasts.
- Oversee the maintenance of programme accounting records, including deferred revenue, work-in-progress, and unbilled amounts.
- Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS15.
- Provide variance explanations and analysis to support commercial decision-making.
- Collaborate with the UK Financial Controller to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including sales and operations teams.
- Manage a team of professionals to deliver commercial and programme accounting services.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Good knowledge of IFRS standards, particularly IFRS15, and experience with programme accounting.
- Commercially astute and experienced in sales forecasting and analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, SAP, and management information systems (Oracle EPBCS).
- Detailed knowledge of SAP programme accounting, including WBS structures, ZPLANS, and reporting.
