Public Affairs Specialist

About the Role
Our client, a pioneering FTSE 250 professional services company, is seeking an experienced Public Affairs Manager to join its external communications team. The role is a six-month fixed-term contract initially, with potential for permanent status in the future.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in public affairs, including government relations, running consultations, managing major events, submissions, and engagement programmes. Additionally, experience in comms and media would be beneficial but is not essential.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement public affairs strategies aligned with the company's goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials and industry leaders.
- Manage and coordinate large-scale events, such as ministerial meetings and policy submissions.
- Cultivate and maintain a network of contacts across the public affairs spectrum.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant policies and regulations affecting the business and advise on effective lobbying strategies.
Your Background
- You hold a degree in a relevant field, such as politics, international relations, or communications.
- You possess significant experience in public affairs, either in-house or through consulting.
- You have a proven track record of developing and executing successful public affairs campaigns.
- You're well-versed in government relations, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
