Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to provide site engineer services at Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. This is a full-time position working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with various shifts between 7am and 7pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate planned maintenance procedures for assets, ensuring effective and safe execution within their range of qualifications, training, and experience.
  • Assist in the training and development of other maintenance/technical staff involved in site maintenance activities.
  • Maintenance inspection and repairs to various types of heating, water, ventilation, electrical, mechanical, and security systems.
  • Work with other craft qualified, semi-skilled, and non-skilled maintenance staff to develop cross-skilling and cover all levels and aspects of maintenance activities on a teamwork basis.
  • Assist in the development of maintenance routines and procedures and prepare and maintain relevant technical records.

Requirements

  • Recognized mechanical engineering or electrical trade apprenticeship.
  • Relevant post-apprenticeship experience in building and facilities maintenance.
  • C&G 2380 / 236 level 2 – BS7671 Electrical Installation (for electrical technicians).
  • Ability to participate in the on-call rota as required.
