Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering & Estates Maintenance Team at the University of Oxford. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our mechanical infrastructure, ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient operation of our systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies for mechanical services, setting standards for safe and efficient systems.
  • Lead the programme for mechanical asset replacement works, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and budget.
  • Provide technical leadership to Project Managers, Consulting Engineers, and Installation Contractors.
  • Support colleagues in the mechanical operation teams to achieve our vision.

Selection Criteria
  • Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Chartered member of CIBSE, IMechE, or other relevant institution or working towards it.
  • Significant experience in all types of mechanical installations within various building types.
  • Strong project management and budgeting skills.
