Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical and Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of discipline engineers and/or engineering design subcontractors, overseeing planning, estimates, schedules, and progress reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Engineering Leadership: Perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, construction, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse EC&I systems and components.
- Design and Analysis: Lead a design, analysis, or review team on complex engineering assignments, performing a range of design development, analysis, or review tasks independently.
- Project Management: Organize and supervise a group of employees or subcontracted engineers for a given project, contract, or job, with overall responsibility for cost, schedule, technical, and employee performance.
- Technical Documentation: Develop, maintain, and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications, ensuring compliance with engineering documentation standards and procedures.
- Communication and Liaison: Direct interface and liaison with internal and external customers at all levels, from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews, and technical working group meetings.
- Problem-Solving and Analysis: Conduct site visits, investigations, analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.
- Education and Experience: Ideally degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or other suitable discipline, with Chartered Engineer status or working towards becoming Chartered. Experience leading a Design team, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a pro-active problem solver.

- Some electrical experience, up to 400V, would be beneficial.
- Experience of safety case justification.
- Experience of building regulations and planning submissions.
- Experience of CDM regulations.
- Area of oversight responsibility: IT systems, Security access and alarm system, Fire detection system.
Currently hold SC or prepared to go through the SC process.
