Deputy Associate Director of Nursing and Children's Services Leader

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our team responsible for Children's Services. We are looking for a motivated and inspirational experienced nurse to be our Deputy Associate Director of Nursing and AHP's.

Whittington Health's Children and Young People's services are integrated services, delivering holistic care across both acute and community services. We are responsible for Acute & Community Paediatrics, Neonates, CAMHS, Therapies, Community Children's Nursing, Health Visiting, and School Nursing.

The post holder will provide nurse leadership for clinical services across acute and community sites. They will be an integral part of the senior leadership team, ensuring that services deliver the highest standard of care to every child and family, every time.

We are looking for a well-organised, efficient manager with significant experience in children's nursing who can lead a team of people and work in partnership with our clinical leaders, Local Authority and Voluntary sector partners, and key stakeholders.

The post holder will require excellent communication and negotiation skills and have an understanding of planning and delivering care from all areas of the health economy.

Main duties of the job

Ensure that the services have appropriate mission statements, quality indicators and objectives in line with this and that the ICARE values are incorporated into the work of all teams and individuals.

To provide a visible, accessible and authoritative presence within the ICSU in relation to workforce, quality, patient safety whilst balancing the operational demands of the ICSU and organisation.

To participate in the development and implementation of clinical pathways across the ICSU.

To monitor clinical standards, evaluate patient care, ensuring practice is evidence-based and that clinical guidelines and care pathways are developed and implemented.

To identify and deal effectively with poor practice or declining standards of care.

To report concerns regarding quality or professional practice. NB: Quality includes safety, effectiveness and patient experience.

  • Support services within the division to actively contribute to the delivery of the Trust's strategic priorities and further develop service provision
  • Promote close collaboration and cohesive working relationships within teams and maintain effective communication channels
  • Support the ADoN and nursing teams to develop effective recruitment and retention plans
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships and links with a range of key stakeholders
  • Act as a role model and maintain optimal level of professional conduct
