Job Title: Education Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Support Worker to join our team at a Pupil Referral Unit in Stoke on Trent. As an Education Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children with challenging behaviours, mental health needs, and SEMH requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children in small groups to engage with their education and regulate their emotions
  • Manage challenging behaviours and provide a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children with SEMH needs

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with challenging behaviours and SEMH needs
  • Patience, resilience, and a calm demeanor
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with children, parents, and staff
  • Knowledge of child development and learning theories
