About the Role

We are seeking an Expert Structural Engineer to join our team at Ark Workplace Risk, a leading provider of operational risk, compliance, and safety solutions. This is a home-based role with project-specific site attendance requirements.

Your primary responsibility will be to work as a subject matter expert within our Professional Services Team, providing fire safety and structural engineering support in the built environment.

As an Expert Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out forensic investigations of existing buildings, assessing issues, and developing building safety case reports. You will also conduct site inspections, provide reports, and review systematic risk assessments under the Building Regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver structural scheme design services, including optioneering and justification of structural options.
  • Interpret data from external wall investigations and apply relevant regulations, guidance, and best practices to ensure structural safety in buildings.
  • Work collaboratively with a wide range of internal stakeholders to ensure optimal solutions for clients.
Requirements
  • BSc/BEng/MSc/MEng in Structural Engineering or a relevant subject.
  • Member of a relevant institution, such as the IStructE or ICE.
  • Ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience in structural engineered new build, extension, and refurbishment works of buildings, ideally residential high-rise.
