Role Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Control Specialist to join our team at Hunter Dunning. As a key member of our compliance and safety team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of design and safety across our projects.



Key Responsibilities




  • Compliance and Safety Management: Lead the planning, management, and monitoring of design work to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act 2022.
  • Design Support: Collaborate with architectural teams to advise on compliance with Building Regulations and develop the company's compliance and safety services.
  • Principal Designer Duties: Manage and develop Principal Designer duties under the Building Safety Act, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and delivering client-focused services.
  • Client Relationships: Maintain strong client relationships and support them with Duty Holder responsibilities, serving as the primary client contact and ensuring professional communication.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with teams to execute strategic initiatives, meet key performance indicators, and prepare reports for senior leadership.


Requirements




  • Experience: Previous experience in the construction industry, ideally in a compliance or health and safety role.
  • Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
  • Skills: Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Education: A degree in Architecture, Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a similar field, and membership in RICS, CABE, RIBA, CIAT, BSCF, or CIOB.
