Electronics Summer Placement Programme

Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding work experience in electronics engineering? Leonardo SpA is offering a 13-week paid summer placement programme for students and recent graduates in electronics engineering.

As an electronics summer placement student, you will work on real-time projects alongside leading scientists and engineers, developing your knowledge and skills in electronics engineering. You will report to an experienced engineer who will provide day-to-day guidance and on-the-job training.

You will gain experience on aspects of the development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, applied research, and test. You will also have the opportunity to learn about a Leonardo product through placement within a real project team.

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are willing to take on a challenge to complete a summer placement. We will demand a high degree of customer focus and work performance from you to meet our operational challenges.

Requirements

To be eligible for this opportunity, you must be working towards a minimum of 2:2 Bachelors/Integrated Masters degree in Electronics Engineering, Engineering Science, Physics, or another relevant discipline. You should also demonstrate an interest in one or more of the disciplines within hardware engineering, such as RF, Microwave, Power supply, EMC, FPGA, and high-speed digital.

Please note that in order to apply for this opportunity, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance.

Locations

The summer placement programme is available in two locations: Edinburgh and Newcastle. You will be based in one of these locations for the duration of the programme.

Contract Type

The summer placement programme is a fixed-term contract, lasting 13 weeks. You will be employed by Leonardo SpA for the duration of the programme.

Hybrid Working

We offer a hybrid working arrangement, which allows you to work from home or in the office, depending on your needs and preferences.
