Mechanical Maintenance Role

Shift Details: Continental Shifts, 12-hour shifts with a half-hour lunch break, 4 on 4 off days only

Reporting To: The departmental engineer

Holiday Entitlement: 23 days (15 days + 8 statutory + service, payment pro-rata in the first year)

Pension: Eligible to join the pension scheme in line with auto-enrolment legislation (money purchase)

Contribution: Employee 2%, Company 2%

Life Insurance: Twice the employee's salary

Requirements:

  1. C+G part 3 or ONCIHNC qualification
  2. Time served through an apprenticeship
  3. Good competency with hydraulic & pneumatic drawings / fault finding
  4. Experience with motors & drives - Gear motors, reduction gearboxes, overhead cranes etc
  5. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  6. Happy to work as part of a team or solo

Bonus Experience / Qualifications:

  1. Previous foundry experience
  2. Banksman training / certificate
  3. Forklift truck / Access equipment training
  4. Ability to use lathe, milling machine, grinders etc

Duties:

  1. Daily/Weekly/Monthly inspections and maintenance
  2. Respond to breakdowns
  3. Report parts used from stock to maintain stores stock levels
  4. Assist in the analysis of breakdowns, suggest and implement corrective actions
  5. Modifications to plant (to regulations)
  6. Installation of equipment
  7. Assist in training apprentices
  8. Work a reasonable amount of overtime over standard hours in the week should circumstances demand it
  9. Call out cover
