We're seeking a Manual Aircrew Technical Author to support the effective and timely delivery of Publications to meet aircraft programs and In-Service Support requirements. This role will operate on a hybrid basis, with time split between home working and our client site in Yeovil, Somerset.

As a Manual Aircrew Technical Author, you'll work closely with the Principal Engineer – Aircrew Publications to support the timely delivery of updates and creation of Aircrew Publications and IPS technical data. You'll liaise with departmental managers and team leaders to ensure all work is discharged in a timely manner and identify any potential risks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating and sustaining the aircrew suite of publications to support various IPS programs
  • Conducting engineering documentation analysis and interpretation of technical information to produce relevant and accurate aircrew operating, procedural, and technical information
  • Delivering support to validation and analysis of data created with relevant stakeholders to ensure the issue of quality-approved aircrew information to fleet operators
  • Maintaining effective communication and providing advice to managers and stakeholders on progress/status of Work Authorizations, Unsatisfactory Feature Reports, and Non-Conformance Reports on Aircraft Publications

Requirements include:

  • Education to at least HNC level in a relevant aviation-related subject or a recognized engineering apprenticeship followed by a period of employment in all aspects of aircraft maintenance and overhaul
  • Previous experience in aircraft engineering and/or aircraft Technical Publications experience with specific knowledge of Lynx helicopters
  • Detailed knowledge of air publication specifications and technical authoring and production tools
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use Dassault Enovia
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work to changing deadlines under pressure
