Communications and Marketing Officer

We are seeking a talented Communications and Marketing Officer to join our team at a prestigious education institution in the North Surrey area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Marketing Strategy: Assist in developing and implementing a multi-channel communications plan to support the establishment's strategic plan.
  • Engage with the Community: Capture and communicate school life through various channels, including social media, website, and online platforms.
  • Brand Identity: Support the roll-out of a brand identity toolkit across all brand touchpoints, including brand collateral, print media, website, and online channels.
  • Social Media Management: Administer the execution of the school's social media activity across the yearly calendar, working closely with the Director of Communications and Marketing.
  • Digital Activities: Ensure digital activities are constantly updated, relevant, and appropriate, and are used effectively to maintain communication and drive engagement with stakeholders.
  • Content Creation: Provide content, style management, and design for all school marketing materials.
  • Website Management: Update the school's website content regularly.
  • Online Presence: Manage online presence to ignite advocacy and positive conversation.
  • Events Strategy: Support the Events strategy for the school, maintain and update the calendar of events, and work closely with the Marketing, Admissions, and Communications team to plan creative and engaging experiences for prospective families and stakeholders.
  • Internal Communications: Administer internal communications within the school, including the development of an internal communications strategy and management of key internal channels.
Person Specification:
  • Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational and time management skills with the flexibility to think on your feet.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to work accurately with excellent attention to detail to meet deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Literacy Skills: Literacy skills to prepare correspondence to a consistently high standard.
  • Discretion: Absolute discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills at all levels.
  • Adaptability: The ability to work well in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Proactivity: A proactive approach to work; have integrity and the drive to do what is best for the students and the school.
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or relevant experience (candidates without a Bachelor's degree but with equivalent professional experience are encouraged to apply).
  • Marketing Experience: 2-3 years related experience in a marketing role with excellent copy experience.
  • IT Skills: Good IT skills with knowledge of relevant software applications, including MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and database skills.
  • Professional Development: A willingness to learn new skills and evidence of taking ownership of continued professional development.
Desirable:
  • Software Skills: Knowledge of software packages such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and WordPress.
  • Web Editing Tools: Experience of using other web editing tools, CRM, and email marketing platforms, and SEO management.
  • Education Experience: Experience of working in an independent educational establishment or school.
