Financial Controller Opportunity

Our client, a rapidly expanding private equity group business, is seeking a talented Financial Controller to join their head office Finance team based in Carlisle. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for leading the group's financial reporting, management accounting, and regulatory & compliance obligations. This position offers a balance between traditional financial responsibilities and working with the Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officer to develop new reporting, commercial KPIs, systems, and processes for a fast-growing business.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports for the Board and Senior Management team, with variance analysis and insight into performance and future impact.
  2. Review and guidance to the finance team during the month-end process and review of key reconciliations and processes performed by the team.
  3. Responsibility for delivering the year-end audit process.
  4. Working with tax advisors and auditors.
  5. Cashflow management, working alongside the CFO in management of the Group's short and long term working capital processes.
  6. Direct management of 2 x Management Accountants and 1 x Accounts Payable Assistant.
  7. Contribute to future projects including the scoping and delivery of a new ERP/Finance system within the next 12 months.

Requirements:
  1. ACA or ACCA qualification with 5+ years post-qualification experience.
  2. Up-to-date knowledge of technical accounting.
  3. IT literate with strong Microsoft Excel skills and willingness to develop these skills further.
  4. Full-time permanent role, 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9 - 5pm.
  5. 25 days annual leave + bank holidays.
  6. Up to 7% pension contribution.
