Job Summary

Concrete Industries Inc. is seeking a skilled Dump Truck Driver to transport and dump loose materials, such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, or paving materials. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, a hard worker, and reliable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies while performing duties safely.
  • Drive a dump truck to destination, applying commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering the vehicle in difficult situations.
  • Secure loads using tarps.
  • Inspect the truck for defects before and after trips and submit a report indicating the truck's condition.
  • Maintain a driver log according to DOT regulations.
  • Inspect truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. May perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires or tire chains.
  • Assist workers in loading and unloading the truck.
  • Crawl in and out of the truck box to clean out, oil the box, and pull the construction tarp.
  • Observe and practice safety standards and policies of the department.

Requirements and Education

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid NE Commercial Driver's License (Class B minimum). Must meet insurability for driving requirements of the company.
  • Must have a current Class B CDL with a good driving record.
  • Must have previous driving experience handling large trucks.
  • Must have an understanding of the Safety Rules & Regulations of the industry required.

Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding job that regularly requires the employee to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds to shoulder height.

The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.

The employee is occasionally exposed to hot and cold weather conditions.

The noise level will vary while in the field.

Must be flexible regarding the work assigned due to temporary job assignments at other Ready Mix Plants.

This is a non-smoking campus and facility.

Condition of Employment

Candidate is required to meet the above qualifications, task frequency, and PPE requirements. Approval of pre-employment reference & background checks, and post offer drug/alcohol testing with fit for employment screening (if required) are required as conditions of employment. This also applies to all transfers, fit-for-duty and return to work programs.
