• As a Recovery Worker at The Forward Trust, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing support to prisoners aged 18 and over.

• Your primary responsibility will be to work within an integrated healthcare framework, offering guidance and support to service users with low-level mental health needs and/or substance misuse issues.

• Your role will involve managing a caseload, providing harm reduction advice, assessments, and care plans; delivering structured 1:1 and group-work sessions for both Substance Misuse and Low Level Mental Health service users.

• You will also provide transitional support from prison to the community, preparing service users for release.

• Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out assessments, risk/initial/comprehensive assessments to inform treatment journeys
  • Delivering interventions relevant to individual client needs, including 1:1 sessions and group work/programme facilitation
  • Facilitating substance misuse and mental health groups, and Wellbeing and Recovery programmes to the standard required
  • Supporting service users by developing appropriate release plans with them
  • Supporting clinical services by carrying out second signatory duties
