About the Role:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Radiation Protection Specialist to join our team on a major project located in a secure facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Radiation Protection Engineers to develop, refine, and deliver comprehensive radiation safety training packages, ensuring a common standard and approach to radiation safety for Amentum work.
  • Work closely with the RP Manager, Supervisors, and Trainer to take a leading role in the development of Trainee RP Monitors.
  • Conduct independent reviews of RP-related processes, procedures, and work practices to drive improvements, efficiencies, and reduce potential exposures.
  • Provide technical support to Rad Engineering teams as required.
  • Perform other similar related duties as assigned or requested by the Senior RP Engineer/Head of Profession.

Requirements:

  • Significant previous experience in Radiation Protection, preferably at a nuclear licensed site.
  • Demonstrable ability in the delivery of workplace training, including the delivery of formalized training to groups.
  • Relevant qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ) in Radiation Protection/Health Physics or other relevant subject.
  • Ability to pass any relevant and applicable client training; support will be provided.
  • Eligibility for UK SC security clearance.
