Machine Operator

We are seeking a skilled Machine Minder to join our team at Hilton Foods. As a Machine Minder, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our production process.
Key Responsibilities- Effectively change over packaging and process machinery to meet production demands
- Ensure equipment is available and ready for use as per production plans
- Perform 1st Line maintenance to agreed guidelines, completing documentation to a high standard
- Conduct pre-start checks to ensure H&S and Food Safety requirements are met, addressing any issues promptly
- Liaise with production and engineering departments to optimize machine performance
- Provide a safe and efficient service, adopting a proactive approach to maintaining good machinery and operating efficiencies
- Support the reduction of non-planned maintenance downtime
- Share knowledge with the production team to enable continuous improvement
- Optimize high-risk equipment, including deglazers, depositors, and weighing equipment
- Proven experience working with or operating machinery in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Familiarity with setting up, adjusting, and troubleshooting machines for smooth operations
- Understanding of mechanical processes and basic machinery maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, machine manuals, and safety instructions
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for long periods, lifting, and handling machinery components or materials
