Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Fire Safety Specialist to join our team at CV Library. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of fire safety across our housing assets.

The Role:
  • Provide an operational fire safety management function for all Council-owned and managed housing assets, delivering continuous improvement in safety.
  • Support compliance with statutory and non-statutory fire safety legislation and associated building regulations.
  • Carry out fire risk assessments across all of the Council's housing stock.
  • Ensure the FRA programme is delivered on time and to the required standard through the application of a quality assurance programme.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation through the use of performance data, risk assessments, and audits of Council-owned and managed housing assets.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the council, in relation to fire safety.
  • Support, develop, and maintain the Housing Fire Risk Management Policy.
Requirements:
  1. Specialist knowledge of fire safety legislation and its applications to housing.
  2. Knowledge of the requirements for good fire safety management and maintenance operations.
  3. Knowledge of Fire Risk Assessment process and guidance/best practice (PAS 79).
  4. Minimum 3 years' experience within the fire safety sector, property management, or similar sector.
  5. Experience of managing or advising on fire safety in a medium to large organisation.
  6. Experience in researching, developing, and implementing policy and strategy to meet business requirements.
  7. Experience of completing and reviewing fire risk assessments or audits for housing assets.
