Mechanical Operations Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Operations Engineer to join our team in the Prestwick area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of wind turbines within the UK and Ireland.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic operations and experience working at heights. You will work closely with other technicians and supervisors to ensure that service targets are met while maintaining the highest safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing daily maintenance and repairs on wind turbines
  • Working at heights of up to 100 meters and in adverse weather conditions
  • Component replacement and troubleshooting of systems
  • Carrying out periodic service inspections according to Vestas' specifications

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic operations
  • Ability to work at heights and in adverse weather conditions
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written
  • Good computer literacy and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and well-organized individual with good communication skills

Salary and Benefits:

A salary of £55,000 - £65,000 per annum reflects the level of expertise and experience required for this role. Our benefits package includes private healthcare, a pension scheme, and 25 days annual holiday plus statutory bank holidays.
