Technical Engineering Director Europe

JELD-WEN, a leading global designer, manufacturer, and distributor of high-performance interior and exterior doors, windows, and related building products, is seeking a Technical Engineering Director for Europe.

About the Role

This key leadership position is responsible for overseeing the overall Continuous Improvement strategy, Manufacturing Strategy, and Industrial Engineering and Technology of our European production sites.

As Technical Director Europe, you will identify, lead, and deploy Continuous Improvement initiatives across the European plants and business groups to deliver quantified bottom-line performance improvement.

You will define a structured manufacturing strategy and implementation schedule from current state to desired state for Europe Operations.

A crucial pillar in this position will be the development of footprint and investment requirements to establish Centres of Excellence that will enable business growth in-line with Product Management and Sales direction.

Your Responsibilities

  • Effective deployment of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, business process assessment, planning, facilitation, and execution of kaizen events, and the systemic improvement of standard work practices and procedures.
  • Drive positive transformation throughout the European region, build and mentor effective matrix teams, and drive employee engagement involvement and development.
  • Definition of the European Manufacturing strategy in line with business strategy and growth opportunities.
  • Deliver prioritized implementation of Manufacturing strategy in-line with Product Management and Sales direction.
  • Optimization of local engineering resources while delivering the industrial transformation agenda.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and educating employees to develop, support, and sustain a CI culture.
  • University degree in Engineering or Technology.
  • Several years of experience in a leading role in industrial organizations (preferably in a matrix environment).
  • Proficient in developing industrial setups in a large-size company (strategic planning and execution).
  • Organizational and cultural change management.
  • Statistical analysis skills.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), any additional language is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel (~50%).
