HR Advisor Job Description

Syntech Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join their team in Reading, Hampshire. As an HR Advisor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the employee life cycle, including onboarding, performance management, and off-boarding.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage employee onboarding, including creating and implementing onboarding programs
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that comply with UK legal requirements
  • Oversee the full recruitment process, including job descriptions, adverts, and interviews
  • Manage contractual paperwork, including offer letters and contracts of employment
  • Administer employee payroll and absence management
  • Produce HR reports as required
  • Deliver training programs to managers on HR practices and procedures
  • Design and work on HR projects
  • Manage investigations and complex employee relations issues, including redundancy and grievance
  • Monitor and develop performance appraisal systems
  • Gather and evaluate market data to measure the organization's competitiveness for salary reviews, compensation, and benefits packages
About You:
  • 4-5 years of experience in HR at Advisor level, preferably in an SME
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent organization skills, able to prioritize
  • Experience gained in logistics or commercially focused businesses (desirable)
  • Comprehensive understanding of employment law and HR best practices
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and remain calm under pressure
  • Collaborative and pragmatic approach to work
