Job Description

Lidl is seeking a Logistics Compliance Manager to join their Customs & Import team. As a dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will play a critical role in ensuring the high quality and compliance of Lidl's customs activity.

In this exciting new role, you will contribute to compliance processes and protect Lidl from compliance risk. With your extensive customs knowledge, you will be managing a team of up to 4 people, providing training and coaching to ensure that all team members are equipped with the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.

You will oversee the processes of customs compliance and audit to adhere to trade rules and regulations, ensuring that goods are imported and processed correctly. This includes building import data reports and dashboards, checking, reviewing, and analysing import data trade sets, identifying areas of development and optimising processes, and reporting out on trends, areas of concern and improvement opportunities.

As a key member of the team, you will build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and advise on customs compliance and audit related issues. Your strong leadership skills and ability to manage and develop a team will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of specialist's day to day including delegation and workload management
  • Train and coach members of the compliance and audit team
  • Oversee the processes of customs compliance and audit to adhere to trade rules and regulations
  • Build import data reports and dashboards
  • Check, review, and analyse import data trade sets
  • Identify areas of development and optimise processes and report out on trends, areas of concern and improvement opportunities
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and advise on customs compliance and audit related issues

Requirements

  • Experience in Customs Compliance and Trade Compliance
  • Technical understanding of import data analysis, including the use and application of customs compliance process
  • Level 4+ Certificate in Customs Compliance, or other applicable customs and trade certifications and diploma, preferred
  • Detailed knowledge and experience working with customs import data, and post-clearance audits
  • Strong knowledge and experience of the UK/EU customs legislation and import process and requirements
  • Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to manage and develop a team
  • Analytical mind-set with the ability to analyse large data sets and build dashboards
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to use their own initiative
  • Highly focused and accurate with an uncompromising eye for detail
