Palliative Care Governance Expert

We are seeking a skilled Palliative Care Governance Expert to join our Board of Trustees at HOSPICE UK. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in shaping the direction of our charity and ensuring that we continue to provide exceptional palliative care to those who need it most.

About the Role

  • Estimated Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
  • Location: South & East Buckinghamshire and South & West Hertfordshire
  • Job Type: Part-time (approximately 6 early evening meetings and 4 clinical governance meetings per year)

We do this by listening to our community, delivering accessible services, caring for people from diagnosis, and supporting those in need.

Your Responsibilities

  1. To ensure that our charity complies with its governing documents, charity law, and relevant legislation or regulations
  2. To contribute actively to the Board of Trustees' role of giving firm strategic direction to the charity, setting overall policy, defining goals, and evaluating performance
  3. To act with integrity, avoiding conflicts of interest, and misusing charity funds or assets
  4. To ensure the financial stability of HOSPICE UK and manage risks effectively
  5. To use reasonable care and skill in your work as a Trustee, utilizing personal skills and experience as needed

Requirements

  • Extensive health service experience at leadership level in primary or secondary care
  • Clinical experience in community care and ability to enable change management
  • Risk management, quality standards, safeguarding, data management, and professional education expertise
  • Strategic vision, business planning, leadership, networking, and relationship-building skills
